{"id":233,"date":"2008-10-21T14:07:05","date_gmt":"2008-10-21T20:07:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cookcountypd.org\/blog\/2008\/10\/21\/are-you-doing-grade-3-work-but-getting-grade-2-pay\/"},"modified":"2008-10-22T09:00:16","modified_gmt":"2008-10-22T15:00:16","slug":"are-you-doing-grade-3-work-but-getting-grade-2-pay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/local3315.org\/blog\/index.php\/2008\/10\/21\/are-you-doing-grade-3-work-but-getting-grade-2-pay\/","title":{"rendered":"Are You Doing Grade 3 Work, But Getting Grade 2 Pay?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Under our collective bargaining agreement, the union is allowed to request a job audit of attorneys whom the Union identifies as working out of their classification .\u00a0 The purpose is to show the\u00a0human resources department that you should be reclassified and upgraded because of the actual work you are doing.\u00a0 In order to determine who those individuals are, we (the local) are asking that you tell us if you think you are working out of classification.\u00a0\u00a0This seems particularly to be an issue for Grade 2s.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So, here is what you need to do if you want the union to ask you to be audited:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Send a memo or letter to me infoming me of your name, job site, grade, and seniority date.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 Describe in detail\u00a0your current assignment\u00a0and the kind of work you are doing (e.g. representing four defendants on armed robbery cases with a firearm; three defendants on attempt murder charges;\u00a0two defendant&#8217;s with\u00a0natural life cases;\u00a0one case case involving an expert witness that was retained by the office to testify as to fingerprint identification; one insanity case, etc.).\u00a0 Please try to give a total caseload number as well. \u00a0In addition, please be mindful of confidentiality issues.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Tell me how long you believe you have been working out of grade.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 Submit any motions you filed, statistics you submitted\u00a0or any other documents\u00a0\u00a0that you would like the union to consider.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0 Get me your memo or letter by OCTOBER 31, 2008 (Deadline).<\/p>\n<p>In Solidarity,<\/p>\n<p>K.
