The event is being sponsored by the Illinois AFL-CIO, the Illinois Labor History Society, the Chicago Black History Society, and the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement among others. \u00a0This is in lieu of the usual\u00a0extravaganza\u00a0put on at Navy Pier. \u00a0There will be Music, Food- Picnics, tours of the Landmark Pullman Historic District and special &#8220;appearances&#8221; by Eugene Debs, A. Philip Randolph, Jennie Curtiss and Franklin D. Roosevelt &#8211; after all, it is the 75th Anniversary of the New Deal. \u00a0Here are two\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/members.aol.com\/pullmanil\/events.html\">links<\/a>\u00a0to more\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/laborday.pullmanevents.info\/\">information<\/a>\u00a0on the celebration.
