Jon Terry<\/strong>, who is expected to graduate in May 2012 from Chicago Kent College of Law, was selected as the winner of the Summer 2011 Jack Carey Scholarship\u00a0by the\u00a0selection committee.<\/p>\n

A graduate of Boise State University, Jon taught English in Kyrgyzstan while volunteering for the Peace Corps.\u00a0 Following his two years in the former Soviet Union, he gained considerable writing experience as an editor at Heldref Publications in Washington D.C. before starting law school at Chicago Kent.<\/p>\n

Clinical professor Daniel Coyne <\/strong>of the Law Offices of Chicago Kent-College of Law states, “Mr. Terry’s unique life experience makes him an indispensable component to the clinical environment at Chicago Kent.\u00a0 His demonstrated ability to function effectively in a variety of non-traditional environments serves him well in navigating the criminal justice system in Cook County.”<\/p>\n

Under the supervision of Assistant Public Defender Kyan Keenan <\/strong>(26th), Jon\u00a0has been doing motions and trials before Judge James Linn <\/strong>at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse at 26th Street.\u00a0 Jon’s goal is to have a long and rewarding career defending indigent people.\u00a0 Congratulations Jon — and best wishes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
